Kevin Durant to miss exhibition vs. Canada (calf strain)

LAS VEGAS – Star forward Kevin Durant will miss the United States’ Olympic exhibition opener against Canada on Wednesday due to a left calf strain, according to coach Steve Kerr. Durant, USA Basketball’s leading scorer, did not participate in the team’s recent practices and scrimmages due to soreness. The injury is considered minor and precautionary. Team USA faces Canada on Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena. In their last meeting, Canada defeated the Americans in the FIBA World Cup bronze medal game. Durant’s return date is yet to be determined. Team USA will travel to Abu Dhabi for further workouts and exhibition games.
